Bazavluk Roman Yuriyovych

Roman Yurievich Bazavluk is a defender of Ukraine, commander of the Air Defense Forces unit, a specialist in the field of unmanned technologies and an example of technical mastery in the service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Life and professional path

Roman was born on December 2, 1982 in the city of Gottwald (now Zmiiv) in the Kharkiv region[cite: 1, 2]. His path as a technical specialist began at Zmiiv Secondary School No. 2. He received his higher education at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" with a degree in "Information and Measurement Systems", receiving the qualification of a metrological engineer. For over ten years, Roman worked in the field of sales management of control and measuring equipment.

The First Days of Defense: Crossing the Donets

In the critical days of early March 2022, Roman actively participated in ensuring the life of his hometown. After all the bridges across the Seversky Donets were removed by order of the military in Zmiyev to prevent the breakthrough of enemy groups, there was an urgent need for communication between the banks.

Since March 8, 2022, Roman has been directly involved in the operation of the boat crossing. As part of a group of local volunteers, he helped ensure daily communication. This was strategically important work: the boats not only transported people, but also delivered bread, flour, and other necessary products to the other bank every day for the community's residents.

Military service: from volunteer to commander

On April 1, 2022, Roman voluntarily mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He began his service in the territorial defense of the Kharkiv region, where he participated in the Kharkiv offensive operation of 2022.

His combat path lay through the most difficult sections of the front:

1. Kharkiv direction and battles for Bakhmut;

2. Klishchiivka and Pokrovsky direction;

3. Toretsky and Konstantinivsky directions.

Having shown a knack for working with high-tech equipment, Roman moved to the unmanned aircraft systems units, where he worked his way up from reconnaissance drone pilot to master sergeant and platoon commander. On June 1, 2024, he assumed the position of commander of the UAS unit (RUBpAK).

Technological advantage and warehouse care

As a commander and engineer, Roman Bazavluk specializes in the use of modern types of strike and reconnaissance UAVs, including heavy and light bombers and kamikaze wings. He is fluent in specialized software such as Delta and Nettle, and has a deep technical understanding of the industry.

The commander's main priority remains the fulfillment of combat missions while maximally preserving the lives of personnel. Throughout his leadership, the unit has demonstrated high efficiency and a professional approach to organizing combat work.
