🕯 THE LIFE OF DEFENDER DMYTR KHOLOPENK WAS TRAGICALLY TERMINATED

The Zmiiv community is in mourning again. On September 19, 2026, a serviceman, driver-electrician of the anti-aircraft machine gun company platoon command of military unit A4950, our compatriot Dmytro Kholopenko, died in a road accident in the village of Taranivka. He was 34 years old.

Dmytro was born on November 6, 1991. He studied at Zmiiv Lyceum No. 1. He completed his military service.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Dmytro voluntarily joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. At first he served in the Special Operations Forces. During the war years he went through difficult combat tests and hot spots, suffered several injuries, but continued his service. For his courage and the performance of combat missions, he was repeatedly awarded military awards.

The war left a deep mark on his family as well — Dmytro's younger brother, also a military man, has been considered missing since 2024.

The life of a warrior who had faced danger more than once at the front was tragically cut short far from the battlefield.

It is difficult to find words that can ease the family's pain.

The Zmiiv City Council expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of Dmytro Kholopenko.

We bow our heads to the memory of the Defender. May the good memory of Dmytro, his courage, and devotion to Ukraine forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

🕯 Bright and eternal memory.
