🕯 ZMIIV COMMUNITY IN MOURNING: DEFENDER MAXIM VOVK HAS PASSED AWAY

Once again, terrible news brought pain to the Zmiiv community. The war took the life of our fellow countryman, Defender of Ukraine Maksym Vovk.

Maksym was born on April 10, 1995 in Zmiyev. When he was six years old, he moved to the village of Artyukhovka with his parents and older brother. He spent his childhood and youth there.

He studied at Chemuzhiv comprehensive school. Classmates and teachers remember Maksym as a smiling, sincere and sociable boy. Together with his classmates, he studied in a theater studio, loved to transform into fairy-tale characters, and was a regular member of the team at the district youth forum.

After graduating from school, Maxim immediately started working.

In 2025, Maksym signed a contract and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his military service, he proved himself exclusively on the positive side, enjoyed respect among his fellow soldiers, and had a high level of motivation for service.

On September 1, 2026, soldier Maksym Vovk, service number of the 2nd mortar platoon of the mortar battery of the motorized infantry battalion of military unit A4773, died while at the "ZVIROBIY" firing position near the settlement of Novoselivka, Synelnyk district, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Maxim is forever 31 years old.

He didn't have time to fulfill one of his greatest dreams - to create his own family. He didn't have time to realize many of his plans. His life was cut short too soon...

The Zmiiv City Council, its executive committee, and the entire community express their sincere condolences to Maksym's family, loved ones, friends, and comrades-in-arms.

The bright memory of Maxim will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In 2025, he made an important decision for himself - he signed a contract and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served with dignity, responsibly carried out his assigned tasks, enjoyed the respect of his fellow soldiers, and was highly motivated for military service.

Today, relatives, friends, classmates, comrades-in-arms, government officials, and community residents came to see Maxim off on his final earthly journey. With words of prayer and unspeakable pain, they said goodbye to their fellow countryman, whose life was cut short too soon. May the bright memory of him live on in the hearts of all who knew, loved, and waited for him.
